City Trunk Line South Unit II

Project Description:  W.A. Rasic installed 12,800 linear feet of 66-inch CML&C welded steel water pipe and 54-inch CML&C steel water pipe at depths ranging from 12 to 28 feet throughout various streets in North Hollywood. The work required installing multiple valves ranging in size from 18 to 66 inches and constructing associated appurtenances. We removed and relocated multiple gas lines, sewer laterals, water lines, and power lines to facilitate work. The project involved multiple shoring methods, predominately beam, and plate. Sheet pile shoring was used for all the TBM launch pits. We constructed approximately 3,000 linear feet using the earth pressure-balanced TBM (five separate drives). Work was executed in more than 25 distinct sections with eight system shutdowns to facilitate piping connections.
